What this policy covers
This policy explains how KUGOATS handles personal information when you use the KUGOATS website: browsing, using a basket, placing or tracking an order, using a customer account, managing a subscription, asking to be told when a product is back in stock, sending a business enquiry, or choosing to receive messages.
KUGOATS decides how this information is used and is responsible for it. This policy is written to give the transparency expected by Kuwait's data privacy requirements.
Information we collect
What we collect depends on what you do on the website.
- Contact details — your name, email address and phone number.
- Your account — your email address, which is used to send a verification code for signing in, and your acceptance of the Terms & Conditions.
- Orders — basket contents, quantities, the branch, your delivery address or pickup choice, delivery instructions and your order history. If you use Track your order, the order number and phone number you enter.
- Subscriptions — the plan you chose, its delivery schedule, your saved delivery addresses, and any pause, skip or combine request.
- Payments — the amount, status and payment provider's reference for an online payment. Card and KNET details are entered on the provider's own page and never reach KUGOATS.
- WhatsApp choice — whether you agreed to receive WhatsApp messages, for example when starting a subscription, in your account settings, or when asking to be told when a product is back in stock.
- Back-in-stock requests — your name, phone number and the product you are waiting for.
- Business enquiries — the business name, contact name, phone number, email address and the supply you are asking about.
- Ad measurement — off. KUGOATS does not record the ad or link that brought you and shares nothing with ad platforms.
- Security — your IP address, and the email address used to sign in, are used to limit repeated attempts at signing in, checkout and our forms.
How we use information
KUGOATS uses personal information only for clear operational, customer-service, security and legal purposes.
- To keep your basket, process and deliver orders, collect payment, and send receipts or status updates.
- To run your account and link it to orders you placed earlier with the same email address.
- To run subscriptions, including planned deliveries, pauses, skips, reminders and support requests.
- To tell you when a product you asked about is back in stock, and to reply to business enquiries.
- To answer questions, look into complaints, prevent fraud or abuse, and keep the website reliable.
- To keep the accounting, audit, food traceability and other records required to run KUGOATS or by law.
- To send WhatsApp or marketing messages only where you have agreed to receive them.
Ad measurement
KUGOATS does not measure advertising. The website does not record the ad or link that brought you, loads no tracking pixels, and sends no purchase information to Meta, Google, Snapchat, TikTok or any other ad platform.
Who receives information
Information is available only to KUGOATS staff who need it for their work, and to service providers that help run the website: hosting and database, sign-in, online payment, delivery, and WhatsApp, text message and email services. Ad platforms receive nothing.
KUGOATS may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect customers or the business, or to investigate suspected fraud. Personal information is never sold.
Cookies and browser storage
The website uses only the cookies it needs to work: your basket (kept for up to a year), your checkout and your just-placed order (up to 2 hours each), your sign-in, and your chosen language (up to a year). Turning these off may stop the basket, checkout or your account from working.
The website sets no advertising cookies and keeps no advertising information in your browser.
Retention and security
KUGOATS keeps information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, to keep transaction, audit, traceability, accounting and dispute records, or to meet a legal obligation. How long depends on the type of record.
Administrative, technical and access controls protect your information. No internet service can guarantee complete security, so please report any suspected misuse or exposure promptly.
Your choices and rights
You can change your WhatsApp choice and saved addresses in your account settings. You may also ask KUGOATS to explain what personal information it holds about you and, where applicable, to give you access to it, correct it, or delete information that no longer has to be kept. Withdrawing a choice does not undo processing that already took place lawfully.
To make a request, use the Contact page or visit a KUGOATS branch. To protect your information, KUGOATS may need to confirm your identity before completing a request.
Policy changes
This page will be updated when KUGOATS changes how website information is handled.
